In its glorious first year Indian High School Model United Nations is our attempt to educate and nourish young minds about the procedures and decision making framework of United Nations.

Every February Ihsmun will provide over 3000 students from various nations enriching grounds to improve their skills of critical thinking, public speaking and problem solving. Participating students will act as official delegates of various nations they represent. Each delegation has 10 or 20 members and they represent a country. Generally the country assigned is other than the home country of the students. These delegates present the policies of a nation on various global issues throughout the simulation. As the level of debate expected in the conference is very high, delegates need to extensively research the country policies and topics under consideration. This is very important educational tool of our MUN as the future diplomats and leaders get a deep insight of the global issues concerning mankind. They also receive an unparalleled opportunity to experience the theory and practice the international relations firsthand.

Throughout the simulation delegates continuously interact with other students from various ethnic, cultural, lingual and national backgrounds and thus a unique opportunity is created to know the world. This simulation provides young leaders and future shapers of the world with an opportunity to know how policies on international issues are forged in United Nations. Students also improve their research skills. They have to write research papers and resolutions which improve their skills in writing organized content. During the four day simulation when students take part in discussions, debates and caucuses, their public speaking skills are greatly enhanced. All together the whole program is designed in a manner to maximize the learning of the participating delegates.
